Maggie is a single mom with a teenage daughter. She had a good job and had built a good life for herself and her child. Due to a surprise layoff, Maggie’s savings were exhausted and she struggled to find a new job. Through the Osceola Council on Aging’s United Way-funded Health & Wealth program, Maggie was able to get the job skills training she needed to get a new job. She also took financial management classes to better understand her finances and the importance of saving for emergencies. Thanks to their help, Maggie now has a new job she loves and she’s building a stable home for her family.
