In Central Florida, nearly 20% of the population lives in poverty. Among them are society’s most vulnerable: infants, children, seniors and the disabled. Residents are struggling to afford food, shelter, medication, utilities and other basic needs. The residual effects of long-term poverty spill over into education, healthcare and public safety – impacting the prosperity of the community as a whole. Our Emergency & Homelessness Services program helps people with their emergency needs, such as housing or food. For assistance, please call 2-1-1.
