Our strategy is to provide support service and initiatives for low-income working families to succeed in the five building blocks of financial stability: sustaining employment, income supports, affordable housing, manageable budgets and increased savings and assets.

Heart of Florida United Way invests in programs and initiatives that help families in Central Florida achieve financial stability. We work with our corporate and community partners and member nonprofit organizations to provide workforce development, job training and other services that will prepare adults for employment that provides a livable wage.

As the convener of Central Florida’s Financial Stability Coalition, Heart of Florida United Way ensures the following services are reaching the community:

United Way’s Financial Stability Coalition assists low-to moderate-income families claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

Earned Income Tax Credit

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a free tax preparation service run by volunteers offered to families throughout Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Once filing season opens, our volunteers are available to help you file your taxes at a time and location convenient for you.

BANKON is a program that assists individuals with opening a bank account and managing their money.

The Siemer Institute Program is focused on reducing student mobility by helping families stabilize financially or avoid eviction or foreclosure.
