Amanda was forced to cut her hours down to 10-15 hours a week because of the cost of daycare; daycare costs were exceeding her salary. Because of her limited work availability, Amanda and her child had to leave their home and move in with family members. Through the United Way-funded School Readiness Program with 4C, Amanda found an affordable option for her child’s care, allowing Amanda to return to work. Amanda is now able to work full-time; She is working at a pharmacy as a customer service representative and is now earning enough to have a home of her own.
