
All volunteers are worthy of recognition – but in every organization, there’s someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and accomplished truly incredible things. Heart of Florida United Way recognizes outstanding volunteers throughout the community at the annual Community Volunteer Excellence Awards.

2016 Community Volunteer Excellence Awards Nominations:

Outstanding Volunteer Manager A paid staff member for a nonprofit organization who exhibits tremendous management skills in volunteer recruitment, training, risk management, retention and recognition. |
Outstanding Student Group A student group who volunteers together on the same projects under their school’s name. Service can be a one-time effort or ongoing. Students can be any age/grade level. Groups must be comprised primarily of students only. |

Outstanding Individual Volunteer For an outstanding individual volunteer. Interns would be included here. Students receiving course credit for their service are eligible, assuming their nomination stems from services performed above and beyond the scope of their class requirements. |
Outstanding National Service Volunteer An individual member of a National Service program (AmeriCorps, VISTA, Senior Corps, City Year, NCCC, Public Allies) who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer service. The service must be above and beyond the requirements of the designated program. For this category, nominators may nominate more than one individual, provided each nominee serves in a different National Service Program. |

Outstanding Professional Volunteer An individual who participates in skills-based volunteering for your organization. Examples include an attorney or an accountant providing pro-bono services. Board members, steering committee members, or event/marketing committee members would be included here. |
Outstanding Youth Volunteer An individual volunteer 18 years old or younger. |

Outstanding Faith or Civic Group A faith-based or civic group who volunteers together on the same projects under a collective name. Service can be a one-time effort or ongoing. This also includes youth service organizations, such as Boy Scout troops, and community service groups such as Rotary or other civic groups. |
Outstanding Corporate Group A corporate group who volunteers together on the same projects under their company’s name. Service can be a one-time effort or ongoing. |
Entries must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, June 24 to be considered eligible.
