After moving to Savannah in 2008, the Johnson family began the process of establishing The Zoe Foundation as a non-profit organization in Georgia. Then, on October 16, 2009, it was official, and The Zoe Foundation became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial support by assisting with infant burial or cremation expenses, and provides emotional support through local groups and peer connections. ZF immediately began reaching out to hospitals, funeral homes and maternity groups to offer their services.
Word spread very quickly, and since that time The Zoe Foundation has been able to offer financial and/or emotional support to dozens of Georgia families, as well as, establish chapters in Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, and Indiana.
